How it started:

The idea that led to the creation of LMB Housing services stemmed from the experience of the 2 founders.
When they arrived in Singapore they unsuccessfully tried to find a solution for their housing needs:

  • They were not ready to commit to a 2 years lease with no exit clause as this is the norm in Singapore for standard residential leases.
  • Neither of them was sponsored by a big MNC that would have paid for high end service apartment. Service apartments were way too expensive for them.
  • They were ready to live a little further away from the Central Business District: after all a 15-20mn commute to work is considered as very good in any major international city, they did not need to be 5-10 mn away from work if this meant a massive cost increase of their housing budget.
  • They wanted to live in full facilty condominiums and enjoy the lifestyle condominums provide.
  • They did not want to bother with the hassle of setting up all that is needed when you move in a new home:
    • Understand how the utilities (water and electricity) works here and setup a new utility contract.
    • Understand which are the cable TV providers, how it works, select the right price plan and set it all up.
    • Understand which are the Internet Service Providers, how it works, select the right price plan and set it all up.
    • Find a solution for house cleaning and housekeeping.
    • Find a solution to tend to the small day to day issue when they happen: broken washing machine, repairs, aircon maintenance, etc...
    • Bring or buy what is needed to confortably live: bedsheets, towel, cutlery, small electrical appliances, etc...
  • They wanted something that was cosy, ready and working from day 1.
  • They were ready to pay a (reasonable) premium for this.

They thought that they were probably not alone in this situation and after an in depth analysis of the market and the pros and cons they realized there was a huge gap between what was available and what expats like them were looking for.

LMB Housing Services was then incorporated in 2006.

  • Our Sales Team answers all your questions and organize your stay with us.
  • Our Customer Support Team is your contact point for any issue related to your accommodation once you have moved in the flat.
  • Our Operation Team takes care of all the necessary repairs and maintenance operation. They are also doing the weekly cleaning of the flat.
  • Our Finance Team is responsible for all the "money" questions: invoicing, payment, deposit refund.

How we do it:

LMB Housing Services

  • Contracts long term leases with landlords.
  • Subscribes to utilities (water, electricity).
  • Subscribes to Cable TV.
  • Subscribe to Internet Connections (cable or ADSL).
  • Upgrade the accommodation so that it is fully equipped with standard furnishing and equipment.
  • Rent the accommodation to its customer.
  • The rental fee charged includes:
    • weekly cleaning.
    • Cable TV subscription.
    • Unlimited High Speed Internet subscription.
    • Wireless internet.
    • Normal maintenance and repair costs.
    • Utility subscriptions*.
    • Hot line and email for our customers to contact us about any issue in the unit.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Utilities are billed according to the REAL consumption. All our contracts include a prepaid provision for the utilities' consumption. At the end of your stay, we will adjust the provision to your real utility consumption.
